Lucas Grant Gilbreath is a pitcher for the Colorado Rockies in Major League Baseball and a graduate of the University of Colorado. He was born in the United States on March 5, 1996, and now resides in Colorado.

In the seventh round of the 2017 MLB draft, the Colorado Rockies selected him again, and they later signed him to a contract.
Gilbreath participated in a minor league game for the first time for a Rockies’ affiliated team. In 116.0 innings of work with the Asheville Tourists in 2018, Gilbreath had a 7-8 record and a 5.04 ERA. He fanned 119 batters.
He pitched for the Carolina League’s Lancaster Jets in 2019 and had a 5-10 record, 5.81 earned run average, and 143 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched.
After the 2020 season, the Rockies added him to their 40-man roster. Gilbreath entered the major leagues on April 17, 2021, without ever having played a game.
On May 1st, he was added back to the team’s active roster. Josh Rojas was struck with a home run during his first MLB game as a reliever and appearance.
