Jordan Ladon Sheffield happens to be a professional baseball player known to play as a pitcher for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. He played baseball as a high school student at Tullahoma High School in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 13th round of the 2013 MLB draft but he did not sign with them and chose to play college baseball at Vanderbilt University.
Jordan played collegiate summer baseball with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League before he graduated from college. During the 2016 MLB draft, he was ranked as one of the top available players and was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1st round of the draft.
He made his professional debut with the rookie-class Arizona League Dodgers and the Class-A Great Lakes Loons that same year. He spent the 2017 season playing for the Great Lakes Loons. He was promoted during the season to play for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the California League.
He did not play in a game in the 2020 minor league season due to the cancellation of the season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the Colorado Rockies chose him in the 2020 Rule 5 Draft. During the 2021 season, he made the Rockies’ 2021 Opening Day roster and he made his MLB debut on April 2, 2021, when the Rockies played against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
