Dominic Manuel Núñez, professionally called Dom Nuñez is one of the professional baseball players in the major leagues known to play for the Colorado Rockies baseball team as a catcher.
He was born and raised in Elk Grove in the USA on January 17, 1995. As an amateur, he played baseball at Elk Grove High School. by the Colorado Rockies. He was drafted in the 6th round of the 2013 MLB draft. After high school, he had the intention of going to play college baseball at the University of California, Los Angeles, UCLA.
He chose to sign with the Colorado Rockies when they drafted him in the 2013 MLB draft instead of going to play college baseball at UCLA. He signed with the Rockies and made his professional debut with the Grand Junction Rockies in both the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
The Rockies promoted Dom to the major leagues for the first time in August 2019 and he made his MLB debut for them on August 13 2019. During the 2021 MLB season, the Rockies named him to the team’s 2021 Opening Day roster where he served as Rockies backup catcher.
