First baseman and designated hitter Christopher John Cron Jr. well known as CJ Cron was born in the United States on January 5, 1990. He plays for the Colorado Rockies of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Cron comes from Fullerton which is a city located in Northern Orange County in California.

Cron has previously played for the Los Angeles Angels, Tampa Bay Rays, Minnesota Twins, and Detroit Tigers. He is  Right-handed in his baseball games.

Cron got his high school education, at Arizona’s Mountain Pointe High School in 2008. In the 44th round (1320th overall) of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft, he was selected by the Chicago White Sox. However, he decided to enroll in college instead of signing a contract.

When Cron was a student at the University of Utah, he participated on the Utah Utes baseball team.

Cron was selected by the Angels with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. With the Rookie-level Orem Owlz of the Pioneer League that year, he made his professional debut.

The Tampa Bay Rays received Cron from the Angels on February 17, 2018, in exchange for a player who will be announced later (Luis Rengifo).

The Minnesota Twins took Cron off waivers on November 26, 2018. Cron hit.253 with 25 home runs and 78 RBI in 125 games.

Cron and the Detroit Tigers agreed to a one-year, $6.1 million contract on December 21, 2019.

Cron agreed to a minor league deal with the Colorado Rockies on February 15, 2021, which included an invitation to Spring Training. Cron’s contract was added to the 40-man roster on March 20. He agreed to a 2-year, $14.5 million agreement with the Rockies on October 5, 2021.
