Charles Cobb Blackmon, better known as Charlie Blackmon or “Chuck Nazty,” is an American professional baseball outfielder who plays as an outfielder for the Colorado Rockies.
Charlie played baseball for the school team at North Gwinnett High School as an outfielder and a left-handed pitcher. After graduating from high school, he played baseball for two years at Young Harris College before going to Georgia Tech on a baseball scholarship.
During his university years, Charlie played for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was chosen by the Colorado Rockies in the second round of the 2008 MLB Draft. With the Tri-City Dust Devils that season, he made his professional debut. The Rockies moved him up to the Modesto Nuts in 2009.
He was given the Tulsa Drillers to play for in the 2010 minor league season. He participated in 2011 with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. On June 6, 2011, the Rockies initially promoted him to the big, and the following day, he took part in his first MLB game with the organization. Charlie received his first NL Player of the Month Award in May 2017. Additionally, in April 2018, the Rockies and Charlie agreed to a six-year, $108 million contract.
