On February 28, 1994, a Venezuelan city called Maracay is where he was born and nurtured. In October 2010, he was acquired by the Colorado Rockies off of the open market. With the DSL Rockies, a Rookie-level team, he started playing baseball professionally in 2011. 2012 and 2013 saw him return to the team.
He played for the Rookie-level Grand Junction Rockies in the minor leagues in 2014, then in 2015, he split time between the Class A Asheville Tourists and the Class A Short Season Boise Hawks. Between Asheville and the Class A-Advanced Modesto Nuts, he split the 2016 campaign.
He played for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League in the 2017 offseason while with the Class A-Advanced Lancaster JetHawks. He was added to the Rockies’ 40-man roster following the season. The Double-A Hartford Yard Goats were given the assignment of having him for the 2018 season
The Rockies promoted him to the major leagues for the first time in April 2019 and he made his MLB debut on April 9 2019 for the Rockies when they played against the Atlanta Braves.
