Konnor Chase Pilkington, an American pitcher, competes for the Cleveland Guardians in Major League Baseball. He was created on September 12, 1997, in the American city of Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Pilkington attended East Central High School in Mississippi. In June 2014, when he was 16 years old, he committed to playing college baseball at Mississippi State University. He pitched for the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Brewster Whitecaps.
Throughout the summer, he had the chance to pitch for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team against groups from Chinese Taipei, Cuba, and Japan. In 2018, Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, NCBWA, Perfect Game, Baseball America Preseason All-American Second Team, and Preseason All-American Third Team by D1 all honoured Pilkington as a junior.
The Chicago White Sox selected Pilkington in the third round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, and he signed a contract worth $650,000. Before going up to the Rookie Advanced Pioneer League’s Great Falls Voyagers, he made his professional debut with the Rookie-level Arizona League White Sox.
The Class A South Atlantic League’s Kannapolis Intimidators opened the 2019 campaign for Pilkington. After being promoted, Pilkington finished the season with the Winston-Salem Dash of Class A Advanced Carolina League.
To begin the 2021 season, he was hired by the Birmingham Barons of the Double-A South. On July 29, 2021, the White Sox traded Pilkington to the Cleveland Indians. Pilkington was selected to the Cleveland Indians’ 40-man roster on November 19, 2021.
