Born on February 6, 1991, Luke Richard Maile is an American professional baseball catcher who plays for the Cleveland Guardians in Major League Baseball. He had previously played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Tampa Bay Rays, respectively.
He attended Covington Catholic High School in Park Hills, Kentucky. He was known to have set school records for batting average on base percentage, hits, walks, runs scored, runs batted as well as doubles and triples.
Still in his Amateur career days, he was selected by the Red Sox in the 43rd round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft, however he did not sign the contract at the time and decided to enroll at the University of Kentucky where he played college baseball for the Kentucky Wildcats baseball team at the time.
He commenced his professional career with the Tampa Bay Rays. He was selected in the eight round of the 272nd round overall selection in the year 2012. After his signing he was assigned to the short Season-A Hudson Valley Renegades for the entire 2012 season. He completed the year in four home runs and 49 RBIs.
Still on his professional career, he joined the Toronto Blue Jays on April 6, 2017 where he was not able to make a lot of impacts. Then to the Pittsburgh Pirates on December 2019, the Milwaukee Brewers on December 2020, and finally with the Cleveland Guardians where he signed a one year contract on March 14, 2022.
