José Tena happens to be one of the minor league players with the Cleveland Indians baseball team. Tena plays as an infielder for the Indians. He was born on March 20, 2001, in San Cristobal in the Dominican Republic.
He grew up playing baseball in his birth town till he was signed by the Cleveland Indians as an international free agent in July 2017. He started playing baseball professionally in 2018 after the Indians assigned him to play for the Dominican Summer League Indians.
The following season in 2019, he was made to spend the season with the Arizona League Indians where he hit .325 with one home run and 18 runs batted in over 44 games. There was no game to play in the 2020 minor league season as the season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the 2021 minor league season, he played with the Lake County Captains and was selected to play in the Arizona Fall League for the Scottsdale Scorpions where he won the batting title. The Indians added him to their 40-man roster in November 2021.
