Ronnie Silas Dawson Jr is a professional baseball who plays as an outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball. He was born on May 19, 1995.

He was drafted by the Houston Astros with the 62nd overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, and he debuted for the league in 2021.

In Pataskala, Ohio, Dawson studied at Licking Heights High School and participated in baseball and football. He focused on football until his junior year when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

He had knee surgery before his senior year and missed the football season as a result. While a student at Ohio State University, he participated in collegiate baseball with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He also played in the Prospect League summer baseball league for the Chillicothe Paints. In the Cape Cod Baseball League’s summer collegiate baseball season, he participated for the Orleans Firebirds and was selected as an all-star.

With the 62nd overall pick in the second round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, the Houston Astros selected Dawson. $1,056,800 was handed to him as a signing bonus when he joined the Astros.

On December 8, 2021, the Cincinnati Reds selected Dawson from the Astros organization in the Rule 5 draft’s minor league round.
