Who is Cameron Norrie?
Cameron Norrie is a professional tennis player from the United Kingdom. He was born on the 23rd of August 1995. On April 4, 2022, he earned a career-high ranking of No. 10 in the world in a singles competition, while he was ranked No. 123 in doubles competition.
He won the singles event at four different ATP Tour tournaments, including the Masters 1000 at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters, and the doubles event once.
Since the 18th of October 2021, Norrie has held the position of No. 1 in the men’s singles competition in the United Kingdom.
He was born in 1995 in Johannesburg, South Africa to microbiologist parents David and Helen, both of Glasgow, Scotland. As a child, Norrie was the victim of a break-in when his family was forced to move to Auckland, New Zealand, where his parents currently reside.
Prior to attending Texas Christian University in Fort Worth from 2014 to 2017, he resided in London from 2011 to 2013 at the age of 16. He graduated from TCU in June of 2017 in order to play in the 2017 ATP Tour grass-court season.
In Putney, southwest London, he has lived and worked since becoming a full-time professional. While he was unable to compete at Indian Wells, Norrie flew to New Zealand in March 2020 to spend the remainder of the year living with his parents.
