Facundo Lugones is a well-known tennis instructor in Argentina.
Since 2015, he has worked as a coach, and since 2017, he has collaborated closely with Cameron Norrie, assisting the latter in achieving a career-best ranking of No. 10 in the world.
Lugones and Norrie first became acquainted with one another during Lugones’ senior year of study at Texas Christian University, when they both competed on the tennis team known as the Horned Frogs.
At the 2021 ATP Awards, Lugones was selected by his contemporaries to receive the Coach of the Year award.
Lugones’s sole participation in an ATP tournament (either the main draw or a qualifying event) was in a defeat at the hands of Paul Capdeville in the first round of qualification for the 2011 Argentina Open.
His uncle was Christian Miniussi, who competed in tennis professionally in the past.
Facundo Lugones has been Norrie’s long-term coach since 2017 following Norrie’s tenure at Texas Christian University.
According to the ATP Tour, Lugones was prepared to work in the finance field when he graduated from Texas Christian University.
As a volunteer assistant coach for the squad, he was given the opportunity to travel with Norrie, who was leaving school to become a professional in 2017.
Facundo was a member of the men’s varsity team at Texas Christian University. Additionally, Lugones was an active member of the Argentine Tennis Association’s ATP Tour.
