Goalkeeper Andrew Lewis Goram was a Scottish football player.
He began his career with Oldham Athletic and Hibernian after being born in Bury, Lancashire, England, but is best known for his time spent playing for Rangers in the 1990s when he gained the moniker “The Goalie.”
Goram won the title of Rangers’ greatest goalkeeper ever in a 2001 fan survey.
Goram represented Scotland in 43 international games and was chosen for their teams at the UEFA Euro 1992 and UEFA Euro 1996 tournaments, as well as the 1986 and 1990 World Cups.
Goram played for numerous teams after his time with the Rangers, although his most notable stops were Motherwell and a brief loan at Manchester United. Goram played cricket for Scotland as well.
He continued on to work as a goalkeeping instructor at many Scottish clubs after his playing career ended.
West Bromwich Albion was where Goram started his career, but when he was a teenager, they released him.
Later, in 1981, he moved to England and joined Oldham Athletic, where he lasted almost seven years and made 195 league games.
He was chosen for the PFA Team of the Year for the English Second Division in 1986–1987 due to his performances.

It was stated: “After a brief fight with cancer, Rangers Football Club must announce the passing of its iconic goalkeeper, Andy Goram.
“Andy’s family is in our thoughts today and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
