Tributes have been paid to Rangers goalkeeper Andy Goram following his death. The 58-year-old’s death was announced by the Ibrox club after a brief fight with cancer.
He was known as ‘The Goalie’ during a seven-year stint with the Light Blues in Govan, where he won 10 major awards.
Walter Smith acquired his services after he relocated to Scotland from Oldham Athletic, where he had previously played for Hibs.
Having left Rangers, Goram briefly returned to England before joining Motherwell in Scotland, where he was then signed on a season-long loan by Manchester United.
One of Scotland’s greatest goalkeepers, Goram won 43 caps for his country. Over the course of his illustrious career, he appeared in more than 600 matches for the club, winning numerous trophies along the way.
As the football community remembers Goram, here are some of the tributes that have been paid.
Is Andy Goram Married?
Former Manchester United shot-stopper Goram was single at the time of his passing.
However, prior to his current marriage, Goram had been married three times. He was married to Jackie Taylor in 1985.
He married Tracey Fitzpatrick from 1991 to 1997 and his last marriage was Miriam Wylie from 2001 to 2004
Jackie Taylor was his first wife, and the two of them were together when he played for Oldham Athletic in the year 1985.
They divorced later that year, and Goram remarried six years later, in 1991, to Tracey Fitzpatrick. The first marriage ended in divorce.
Before things began to cool off between them, the couple had been together for six years. And in the year 2001, Goram married Miriam Wylie, the woman he referred to as his “soulmate.”
The former member of Gers did not tie the knot again, although he remained with Elaine Mitchell from 2005 till the time of his passing.
