Taylor Harry Fritz, an American tennis player, competes professionally. Donald Young and Andy Roddick, both Americans, previously held this title in 2000 and 2005, respectively. Fritz participated in his first ATP Tour competition in Nottingham, where he received a wild card and won his first ATP match by defeating Pablo Carreno Busta.

After winning the Junior US Open in September 2015, Fritz became professional. He won back-to-back early morning sets to become the ninth player to have multiple Challenger Tour championships at the age of 17. In the fourth round, he defeated qualifier Jason Kubler and advanced to his first-ever major quarterfinal.
