Meet Jon Daniels
Jon Daniels was born on August 24, 1977, and presently serves as the President of Baseball Operations for the Texas Rangers of the Major League Baseball (MLB). At the time of his appointment, he was the MLB’s youngest general manager at the age of 28.
Daniels grew up in Queens, New York, in a Jewish family. After graduating from Hunter College High School and Cornell University with an Applied Economics and Management degree, he was initiated into the Delta Chi Fraternity of New York University’s School of Hotel Administration. A. J. Preller was one of his classmates. Daniels began his career in business development at Allied Domecq after graduating from Cornell in 1999.

At the end of 2001, he was offered an internship with the Colorado Rockies, where he spent the next two seasons. Daniels was notified of an opportunity with the Texas Rangers after the season had ended. Assistant, Baseball Operations: John Hart recruited him after he applied As Director, Baseball Operations, he was elevated to the position in October 2003.
She negotiated multi-year contracts for Michael Young, Hank Blalock, and Francisco Cordero while in this post. Grady Fuson departed the corporation in July 2004, and Daniels was elevated to the position of assistant general manager.
Hart announced his resignation as general manager of the Rangers on October 4, 2005, and Daniels was named his replacement. Jon Daniels became baseball’s youngest general manager when he was 28 years and 41 days old.
