Scott Alexander Scheffler, also known as Scottie Scheffler, is an American-born professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He is now ranked as the best golfer in the world by the Official World Golf Ranking as of July 2022. Scottie began playing golf when he was quite young.
He accepted a golf scholarship offer from the University of Texas in 2014 and played there through 2018. He helped the team win three Big 12 championships there and was named the “Phil Mickelson Freshman of the Year” in 2015. 2018 saw him graduate with a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Texas.
In 2016, Scheffler qualified for the U.S. Open for the first time. After opening with a first-round score of 69, he finished one stroke shy of the cut with a second-round score of 78. He acquired his 2019 Web.com Tour card from an authorized institution. At the 2020 PGA Championship in August of that year, Scheffler tied for fourth place and took home $528,000 in cash.
At the Charles Schwab Challenge in May 2022, Sam Burns defeated him in a playoff after making a 38-foot birdie putt. At the U.S. Open, he finished T-2, one stroke behind winner Matt Fitzpatrick.

Scottie Scheffler has three sisters. The eldest is Callie Scheffler who is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She participated on the collegiate golf team and she had previously held the position of president of the Texas A&M Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Scottie’s other two sisters, Molly and Sara Scheffler both keep a low profile so there is little known about them.
