The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football team based in Seattle. The Seahawks compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference West, which they joined in 2002.
The team is head coached by Pete Carroll. Seattle Seahawks entered the NFL as an expansion team in 1976.
According to reports, the team is headquartered at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton, Washington and play their home games at the Lumen Field in Seattle’s SoDo neighbourhood since 2002.

The Seahawks field is not real grass as the team in the year 2002 became the first stadium in the NFL to install a FieldTurf artificial field. The surface is made of plastic fibers rooted in a mixture of ground rubber and sand.
