Matthew Montgomery Barkley plays for the Buffalo Bills as a quarterback in the National Football League. After watching him play college football for USC, the Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
In addition, he has previously played for the Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Bengals.
Barkley was reared in Santa Ana and attended Mater Dei High School for his high school studies. He was created in Newport Beach, California. As the first rookie quarterback to start for Mater Dei in 2005, he supplanted Todd Marinovich.
In order to take part in spring practice with the USC Trojans football team, Barkley enrolled at the University of Southern California in January 2009 after graduating from high school one semester early. For the following four seasons, from 2009 to 2012, he will play for the Trojans.
A one-year deal between the Bills and Barkley has been reached. In place of the recently signed Case Keenum and Josh Allen, the 31-year-old Barkley, who played quarterback for the Buffalo Bills from 2018 to 2020, will start as the team’s third quarterback this time around.
The California native formerly played with the Bills from 2018 to 2020 for three seasons. While playing in New York, he completed 53 of 97 passes for 788 passing yards and three touchdowns.
