Raheem Blackshear, a running back, made his decision on Sunday afternoon and declared on Twitter that he would be participating in the 2022 NFL draft.
Blackshear will participate in the Pinstripe Bowl next week, which is wonderful news for Virginia Tech fans. Blackshear, who ran for a career-high 714 yards and six touchdowns in 2021, led Virginia Tech in rushing. Blackshear also scored a touchdown while catching 23 receptions.
Blackshear spent his first three seasons at Rutgers before transferring to Virginia Tech before the 2020 season. A total of 12 touchdowns were scored while he was a member of the Scarlet Knights while rushing for 912 yards on the ground and 80 receptions.
Blackshear gained 969 yards on the ground and scored eight touchdowns while playing for the Hokies over the course of two seasons. He also caught 41 passes for 398 yards and another score.
Late in the season, when the Hokies decided to go with the run, Blackshear truly started to shine. Over the past two seasons, Blackshear was a player who nearly felt squandered. And he’s not to blame for it.
For what some refer to in today’s game as an “air back,” Blackshear has the ideal skills. He can line up in the slot or run between the tackles.
Blackshear is a superb receiver, but owing to Brad Cornelsen, we seldom ever saw that throughout his two years.
What Team Is Raheem Blackshear On?
Raheen Blackshear has signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. Even if the Bills don’t have room for him on their crowded roster, Blackshear will find employment in the NFL if he can demonstrate his adaptability at the next level.
