Kumerow was given a spot on the Buffalo Bills practice squad on September 8, 2020, after being signed by the team.
He was moved up to the active roster on November 7, November 14, and November 28 for the team’s weeks 9, 10, and 12 games against the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Chargers, and then he was moved back down to the practice squad following each of those games.
On December 2, 2020, he was moved up to the active roster from the inactive roster. In week 15, Kumerow scored a touchdown against the Denver Broncos by catching a ball from Josh Allen that was thrown from the 22-yard line.
This play helped convert a second-and-goal situation. On December 24, 2020, he was released from his contract as starter John Brown was activated off injured reserve.
Kumerow signed a reserve/futures contract with the Buffalo Bills on January 26, 2021. Bills quarterback Josh Allen joked in the 2021 preseason that Kumerow was his favorite wide receiver because his only regular season catch for the Bills came for a touchdown.
