He was voted the game’s Offensive MVP after he hauled in five passes for 208 yards and two scores in Alabama’s victory against Clemson in the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship game.

His greatest game of the year was a loss to Clemson (35-31). NFL scouts and commentators were nearly unanimous in their prediction that Howard would be picked early in the draft.

A panel of evaluators recognized his outstanding performance during Senior Bowl practice and named him the Senior Bowl’s top practice player of the week, raising his draft position.

That did a lot to increase his worth. Howard finished the game with four catches for a total of 39 receiving yards, helping the South to a 16-15 victory over the North.

In the year 2020, Howard suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon in the fourth game of the season and was forced to spend the rest of the year on injured reserve.
