Cody Ford plays offensive guard for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He is 149 kg in weight and 1.93 meters tall. He went to Pineville High School in Pineville (PHS). After leaving high school, he participated in NCAA football for the University of Oklahoma’s Oklahoma Sooners team.
Prior to choosing the Oklahoma Sooners during his recruitment, Ford had already made a commitment to TCU. Ford redshirted in 2015 but started Oklahoma’s first three games of the 2016 season. Ford played offensive line for a team that won the Joe Moore Award in 2018 and was chosen for the third team of All Americans.
Ford declared that following this season, he would declare for the 2019 NFL Draft. Mel Kiper Jr., an NFL Draft specialist, claims that when he declared, he was the third guard available. He was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He alternated between playing guard and tackle throughout his rookie season.
In the extra period of Buffalo’s playoff loss to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round, he was called for an illegal blindside block. The Bills were moving closer to the goal. The controversial penalty contributed to Buffalo’s loss in the game. After Ford was ultimately fined $28,075 by the NFL for the block, many Bills supporters gave on.
