At Southern California University, he participated in collegiate football. Simmons was reared in Inglewood, California, where he also attended Crespi Carmelite High School and Susan Miller Dorsey High School.

As a senior, Simmons led the football squad for the Celts and was the second-best offensive line prospect in the nation and a five-star recruit.

On April 29, 2017, the Oakland Raiders acquired Simmons. On September 4, 2017, he was re-signed to the team’s practice squad after being released at the conclusion of training camp.

Simmons spent the entire 2017 campaign with the Raiders’ practice squad before signing a reserve/future deal on January 2, 2018, but he was released from his contract on September 1, 2018, after the conclusion of training camp.

Jordan Simmons, a sixth-year lineman, was one of the few bright spots for the Bills’ line. On 26 pass-blocking snaps, he recorded a prospective pass-blocking grade of 86.8, remaining undefeated in pass protection.
