For the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League, Dion Dawkins is an offensive tackle. He was born on April 26, 1994 in Rahway, New Jersey, in the United States. While attending Rahway High School, he participated in football, gaining the nickname “Shnowman.” In January 2013, he changed his mind and decided to play for Temple University after first signing with the Cincinnati Bearcats.
He played collegiate football for the Temple Owls from 2013 to 2016, starting 41 of his 44 contests. He was chosen for the First Team All-American Athletic Conference following his senior year. The Buffalo Bills selected him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was chosen as the second offensive guard that season.
On May 19, 2017, Dawkins agreed to a four-year, $4.18 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, with a guaranteed $1.83 million and a $1.18 million signing bonus. He started 11 of his 16 games at left tackle. He received an overall Pro Football Focus grade of 74.5 in 2017. Week 16 of the 2019 season marked the second time he caught a touchdown pass.
In August 2020, Dawkins extended his contract with the Bills for a further four years and $60 million, with $34 million of that sum being guaranteed. When training camp opened in 2021, he was put on the COVID-19 reserve list and needed some time to regain his playing fitness.
