Damar Hamlin, real name Damar Romeyelle Hamlin, is a professional American football safety for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills. He is 1.85 meters tall and 91 kilograms. In the United States, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, he was born on March 24, 1998. He played football when a student at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School. First team All-State honors and Class AAAA Defensive Player of the Year were given to him.
He attended the University of Pittsburgh after high school and played collegiate football there for the Pittsburgh Panthers club. Before getting hurt and redshirting as a freshman, he participated in three games. He participated in nine games as a redshirt freshman, recording 41 tackles and one interception. As a redshirt sophomore, Hamlin led the Panthers with 90 tackles and two interceptions, earning honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference status (ACC).
As a junior redshirt, he recorded 84 tackles and 10 passes intercepted. Going into his last season, he was elected team captain, and after leading the team with 67 tackles and seven passes intercepted, he was awarded second-team All-ACC. The Buffalo Bills selected Hamlin in the sixth round, 212th overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft. On May 21, 2021, he agreed to a four-year rookie contract with the Buffalo Bills.
