According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Buffalo Bills have extended their contract with All-Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White by signing him to a new deal worth $70 million over four years with $55 million of that sum guaranteed. The entirety of the transaction is worth $82.1 million in total. 

The agreement includes the greatest amount of guaranteed compensation ever seen in a cornerback contract, and his new annual salary is also the highest ever seen for the position.

White, who was selected in the first round after graduating from LSU in 2017, has started 47 games over the course of the previous three seasons.

During the previous season, he finished in a tie for the league lead with six interceptions and was named to the first team of the All-Pro squad for the first time in his career.

The pass defense of the Buffalo Bills finished the previous season rated fourth in passing yards allowed per game (195.2) and third in opponents’ passer ratings (78.8). In 2019, Buffalo was second only to the New England Patriots in scoring defense, allowing 16.2 points per game (14.1).
