For the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League, Christian Benford is an American football player who specializes in cornerback. The man is 93 kg and 1.85 m tall. A graduate of Randallstown High School, he represented Maryland in the Big 33 Football Classic and was awarded All-Metro and All-Baltimore County as a senior.
Over the offer from Morgan State, he decided to play collegiate football for Villanova. From 2018 through 2021, he competed in collegiate football for Villanova. The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Rookie of the Year was awarded to him for his performance as a true freshman in nine games with eight starts. His 49 tackles, six pass breakups, and five interceptions earned him a spot on the third team of the CAA.
As a sophomore, he participated in ten games, made seven starts, intercepted one pass, and broke up five others. His junior season, which was cut short and played in the spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, earned him a spot on the first team All-CAA. As a senior, he tallied 39 tackles with seven interceptions and an NCAA Division I FCS-leading 18 passes broken up and was again selected first-team All-CAA.
He was taken by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In their week one 31-10 thrashing of the defending Super Bowl LVI Champions, the LA Rams, Benford was one of the two starting cornerbacks for the Bills.
