Tyreek Hill was born on March 1, 1994, in Kansas City, Missouri, and is an American football wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). The Chiefs selected Hill in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He went to Garden City Community College, Oklahoma State University, and the University of West Alabama before settling in Alabama.
As a rookie, Hill was mostly used as a return specialist, but he has now made the move to exclusively playing wide receiver. Following his first season, he was given the moniker “Cheetah” in honor of his exceptional speed. As a punt returner, he has been selected to six Pro Bowls and was named to the NFL.
When Hill was a senior at Coffee High School in Georgia, he won both the 100 and 200 meters at the Georgia 5A state championships in 2012.
Hill was expected to go undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft, largely owing to his arrest for domestic abuse. While Hill was not invited to the NFL Combine, he was able to demonstrate his ability on West Alabama’s Pro Day.
Scouts were particularly taken by his speed, and he earned high marks for his exercise. Regardless of his workout, several clubs had dropped Hill from their draft boards, but his West Alabama head coach stated that at least 20 teams were interested in him.
