He played football for Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, Louisiana, as a tight end, H-back, and fullback. Carter re-signed with the Bengals in April 2020 on a one-year restricted free agent contract. He signed a three-year contract in March 2021 with the Miami Dolphins.
