Michael Deiter is an American football center for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wisconsin and was drafted by the Dolphins in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, he was honored with both Big Ten All-Freshman and All-Big Ten honorable mention accolades (ESPN).
In 2016, as a Redshirt Sophomore, he earned his second letter by starting all 14 games for Wisconsin, including 10 starts at center and four starts at left guard. As a result of his efforts, Wisconsin won the Big Ten Conference West Division Championship and finished the season ranked #9.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, it was decided that he should receive an honorable mention for All-Big Ten.
Prior to the start of the 2017 season, Deiter was placed on the watch lists for both the Outland Trophy and the Rimington Trophy. Athlon Sports placed him on the Big Ten’s second all-conference team.
SB Nation said on September 28, 2017, that Deiter was a leading candidate for the annual “Piesman” Trophy. This is an award given to a collegiate Lineman who does “decidedly un-lineman things,” and it was given to him for his 4-yard rushing touchdown against Illinois.
