Austin Jackson is an offensive tackle for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League in the sport of American football. Jackson was part of the USC Trojans football team while attending the University of Southern California and was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Jackson spent his childhood in Phoenix, Arizona, and attended North Canyon High School. He was a member of the football team at North Canyon High School, where he played both defensive and offensive lines, in addition to being on the school’s basketball and track and field teams.
As a senior, Jackson was a five-star recruit and considered to be the top collegiate talent in the state of Arizona. Despite offers to play college football from Washington and Arizona State, Jackson chose to go with the University of Southern California instead.
As a true freshman, Jackson appeared in all 14 of the Trojans’ games, making an appearance as a backup offensive lineman and playing on the field goal unit on special teams, where he played on both sides and blocked a kick against Colorado.
He entered his sophomore year at USC having already been designated the starting left tackle for the squad, and he started all 12 of the Trojans’ games.
