On January 28, 1999, Robert Jones, an offensive lineman for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League, was born.
He played collegiate football at Middle Tennessee State University before being signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent following the 2021 NFL Draft.
After the 2021 NFL Draft, Jones signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent, and following August’s roster cuts, he was included on the team’s season-ending roster.
He made his NFL debut during the second week of the current campaign. Jones made his league debut at right tackle on January 9, 2021, against the New England Patriots in the penultimate week of the 2021 NFL season.
Jones, a member of the offensive line for Middle Tennessee State, has played offensive tackle in the past but projects as an offensive guard in the NFL.
Jones is a mauler with strong hands and a large frame exactly the type of build and profile you typically see trying to make ends meet inside.
Although Jones lacks a lot of functional athleticism, his pass sets are adequate, and he provides a lot of power and mobility in the running game.
Prior to attending MTSU, Jones played left guard for Highland Community College, where he was one of the top JUCO tackles in the nation.
