Yonge Developmental Research School, then for his senior year transferred to Gainesville High School in Gainesville. Williams played defensive end, tight end, and the long snap during his final year of 2010 in addition to playing both positions occasionally.
The Gainesville Sun’s Class 5A-AA First Team and Super 11 team both named him to their teams in 2010. Following graduation from high school, he attended the University of Tennessee, where from 2011 to 2014, he competed in college football for the Tennessee Volunteers.
He participated in 44 games and 21 of those were starts throughout his time in college. He finished his career with 6.5 sacks and 66 tackles, 10.5 of which were for a loss. In May 2015, after going undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, he signed with the New York Jets. In September 2015, the Jets cut him go. In October 2015, the Miami Dolphins added him to the practice squad. On December 5, he received a promotion to the active roster.
The Dolphins released him in September 2016. He was added to the practice squad of the New York Giants in December 2016. He joined the Tennessee Titans in August 2019. On July 28, 2020, his agreement came to an end.
