Samuel Ehi Eguavoen is a linebacker for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League.
Eguavoen participated in high school football for Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland, Texas. He produced 118 total tackles, 4 sacks, 1 interception, 2 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries in his senior season.
He was named to the District 10-5A Second Team. Both ESPN.com and Rivals.com gave him a three-star prospect rating. At Lakeview Centennial, Eguavoen also participated in basketball.
Eguavoen played for the Texas Tech Red Raiders of Texas Tech University from 2011 to 2014. He played in twelve games, starting five of them, recorded 30 tackles, and in 2011 Rivals.com chose him for the Big 12 All-Freshman Defense team.
He made his CFL commitment to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on February 24, 2016. He participated in his debut CFL game on June 30, 2016, and against the Toronto Argonauts, he recorded four defensive tackles.
On January 7, 2019, Eguavoen signed with the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. He was added to the reserve/COVID-19 list by the team on August 19, 2020, and then activated the following day.
On March 16, 2022, Eguavoen and the Dolphins reached an agreement on a one-year contract extension.
