De’Andre Johnson, a quarterback for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League, was born on February 2, 1996. At Texas Southern, Florida Atlantic, and East Mississippi Community College, he participated in collegiate football.
Johnson attended First Coast High School while growing up in Jacksonville, Florida. He rushed for 398 yards and nine touchdowns while completing 215 of 328 pass attempts for 3,710 yards as a senior, earning him the titles of Class 8A Player of the Year and Florida’s “Mr. Football.”
Prior to his second year, Johnson turned down offers from Clemson and Florida to play collegiate football at Florida State.
In the 2020 NFL Draft, Johnson was not selected. He participated in The Spring League for the Sea Lions in 2021 and completed 574 passes over six games for 5 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
The New Jersey Generals selected Johnson in the 12th round of the 2022 USFL Draft. He was designated as Luis Perez’s back-up. Johnson was frequently employed in different offensive packages in the USFL debut against the Birmingham Stallions, losing 24-28. He carried for a game-high 98 yards and one score on 12 carries, while also completing 3 of 8 throws for 59 yards.
