De’Andre Johnson, a quarterback for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League, was born on February 2, 1996. At East Mississippi Community College, Florida Atlantic, and Texas Southern, he participated in collegiate football.

Johnson was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and went to First Coast High School. He ran for 398 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior and completed 215 of 328 pass attempts for 3,710 yards and 47 scores. He was awarded Florida’s “Mr. Football” and the Class 8A Player of the Year.

In the summer before his sophomore year, Johnson turned down offers from Clemson and Florida to play collegiate football at Florida State.

Johnson was not taken in the 2020 NFL Draft. He participated in The Spring League for the Sea Lions in 2021, passing for 574 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions over the course of six games.

The New Jersey Generals selected Johnson in the twelfth round of the 2022 USFL Draft. He was designated Luis Perez’s backup. Johnson was frequently used in different offensive sets in the USFL debut against the Birmingham Stallions, losing 24-28. He carried for a game-high 98 yards and one score on 12 carries, while also completing 3 of 8 throws for 59 yards.
