Elandon Roberts, a linebacker for the Miami Dolphins in the National Football League, was born on April 22, 1994. At the University of Houston, he participated in collegiate football. In the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, he was selected by the New England Patriots.
On defense, he primarily plays linebacker, although Roberts started to play fullback when the Patriots were without a fullback due to injury during the 2019 season.
Roberts signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Miami Dolphins on March 24, 2020, which also included a $1 million signing bonus. With the signing, Roberts was reunited with Brian Flores, the linebackers coach for the New England Patriots before becoming the head coach of the Dolphins. Kyle Van Noy and Kamu Grugier-Hill, former Patriots linebackers, were also reunited with Roberts. Alongside Jerome Baker, he was selected as the starting inside linebacker.
Roberts was added to the injured reserve on December 31, 2020. He participated in 13 games, including 11 starts, compiling 61 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
On March 24, 2021, Roberts renewed his contract with the Dolphins. In 2021, he was named the starting linebacker, appearing in all 17 games with 15 starts, compiling a career-high 83 tackles, one sack, four passes defended, two forced fumbles, and an interception.
Roberts renewed his contract with the Dolphins on March 18, 2022.
