Elijah Hamilton participates in professional football as a cornerback for the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins. He is 96 kilograms and 1.88 meters tall. He graduated from Blessed Trinity Catholic School in 2016 after attending there. He earned letters in both track and field and football.
He was named the Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 as a senior in high school. He graduated with 1,309 rushing yards, 30 rushing touchdowns, 567 tackles, five interceptions, and five picks. During his four years from 2016 to 2020 at Vanderbilt University, he played college football for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
He played in 41 games for the Vanderbilt Commodores and was chosen as the team captain in 2020. As a senior in his fifth year, he recorded 24 tackles and three pass breakups in 2020. In 2021, he put in an application for a graduate transfer to Louisiana Tech University. He kept playing football there, starting defensive back in each of the Bulldogs’ 12 games in 2021.
At Mississippi State, where he made his Tech debut, he recorded one lone tackle. He made 23 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, and one pass breakup in addition. In 10 games in 2021, he made tackles, including a season-high four versus Southern Miss in November. After the 2022 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins acquired him as an undrafted free agent.
