Byron Philip Jones is an American football cornerback who currently plays for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. Jones was born on September 26, 1992.
After turning up for an outstanding showing at the combine, the Dallas Cowboys used their first-round pick to select him in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is the current unofficial holder of the world record for the standing long jump,
which is 12 feet 3 inches (3.73 meters). He jumped 12.3 feet in the broad jump at the NFL combine, which was enough to create a new record. Jones went to St. Paul Catholic High School in Bristol, Connecticut, where Jude Kelly was his coach.
Jones was a basketball player. As a senior and the captain of the football team, he was recognized as a member of the All-Naugatuck Valley and Class MM All-State teams.
