Kader Kohou, a defensive back who formerly played for Texas A&M University-Commerce, has made it into the 53-man roster of the Miami Dolphins after signing as an undrafted free agent.
Kohou was one of the players that made it through the Dolphins’ most recent round of roster cuts, which secured him a spot in the Miami secondary. It would appear that there is never a sufficient number of defensive backs in football.
In 2021, the 5-10, 195-pound defensive back from Euless Trinity was selected to the all-Lone Star Conference team and was named the only Star Conference Defensive Back of the Year.
During his time with the Lions, he racked up 113 tackles, intercepted 37 passes, forced four fumbles, and recovered three fumbles. He also forced four turnovers.
Both Dominique Ramsey and Kohou were dangerous kick returners for the Lions when they won the NCAA Division II national championship in 2017. Kohou was a member of the team that won the title in 2017.
During this season, he will be playing in the No. 38 jersey. The Dolphins will kick off their new season on Sunday against the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
