Eric Rowe is a football safety for the Miami Dolphins football team of the National Football League. He attended Doerre Intermediate in Spring, Texas, and Klein High School in Klein, Texas. During his high school football career, he had 207 total tackles and nine interceptions. He was ranked as the 39th best safety in his class by Rivals.com, who gave him a three-star rating.
He decided to attend the University of Utah to play college football. For the Utah Utes, he played collegiate football. He was in Utah from 2011 until 2014. He started at safety in his first year. He started all 13 games and recorded 69 tackles, an interception, and a sack. The Philadelphia Eagles selected Rowe in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was selected in 2015 as the overall sixth cornerback.
In May 2015, he signed a $4.87 million, four-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles that also included a $452,248 signing bonus. In September 2016, the Eagles dealt him to the New England Patriots. In March 2019, the Miami Dolphins signed Rowe to a $3.50 million, one-year contract with a $500,000 signing bonus.
In December of the same year, he committed to playing for the Miami Dolphins until the 2022 NFL season by signing a three-year, $16.15 million contract with them. In addition to a guaranteed $6.57 million, the contract includes a signing bonus of $2.10 million.
