The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football team based in Phoenix. The Cardinals are a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) West division in the National Football League (NFL).
The Morgan Athletic Club was founded in 1898, making it one of the country’s oldest continually operating professional football clubs.
The franchise began as an amateur football team in Chicago in 1898 and joined the NFL as a charter member on September 17, 1920. The club is one of just two NFL charter member franchises still in operation since the league’s inception, along with the Chicago Bears (the Green Bay Packers were an independent team until joining the NFL a year after its inception in 1921).

State Farm Stadium, was built in 2006 and is located in the northwest suburb of Glendale, is where the Cardinals play their home games.

At the end of the 2020 season, the franchise’s all-time win-loss record (including regular season and playoff games) is 574–780–41 (566–771–41 in the regular season, 8–9 in the playoffs). They had 30 most wins in 1934 with the highest winning percentage of .842 in 2012.
Musial led the Cardinals to a World Series title in 1946, topping the National League in 10 offensive categories. It was his best season to date, and then he went on to have one of the greatest seasons in history. The 1948 season for Musial was outstanding.
