James Calvin White was taken by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft after playing college football at Wisconsin.
He was mostly deployed as a receiver and currently owns the marks for the most receptions and points scored in a single Super Bowl game, both of which he established in Super Bowl LI.
White received his secondary education at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, which is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
During his time there, he was a member of the Raiders high school football team. He was a contributing member of the St. Thomas Aquinas squad that won the national championship in 2008.
During his time at Aquinas, he most frequently shared playing time with Giovani Bernard, who is now a running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
During his senior season, he rushed for more than 1,000 yards and more than 20 touchdowns, earning a spot on the Broward All-County team in the process. White was also a baseball player who earned letters in the sport.
White graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas and was ranked by Scout.com as a three-star running back recruit, earning him the 70th overall spot in his class.
Wisconsin was his top choice, beating out other schools such as Clemson, Michigan State, and South Florida. The nickname “Sweet Feet” was bestowed upon him.
