Williams spent his freshman, sophomore, and junior years of high school at Father Ryan High School in Nashville, Tennessee. For his senior year, he transferred to Hendersonville High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee; however, he was deemed ineligible because his hardship request was rejected.
Williams, who was rated as a four-star talent, was courted by dozens of colleges and universities, including Alabama, Oklahoma, Penn State, Ohio State, and Georgia, among others.
