Jabrill Ahmad Peppers is a strong safety for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. Peppers played college football for the Michigan Wolverines football team at the University of Michigan and was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
Early on in his high school career, he distinguished himself as an outstanding athlete, and in 2011, the Air Force awarded him the National Sophomore Athlete of the Year. Peppers was selected as one of Sports Illustrated’s “Future Game Changers,” a group of 14 young players who are regarded as the most promising prospects in their respective sports.
In 2015, Peppers was recognized as the Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year, as well as a Freshman All-American and a member of the Second-team All-America. Peppers was honored as the Big Ten’s 2016 Defensive Player of the Year, Linebacker of the Year, Return Specialist of the Year, and All-American.
Pepper is a native of East Orange, New Jersey, and he studied at Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, New Jersey, throughout his high school years. In his first year with the team, he played cornerback, and then in his sophomore year, he switched positions and became the team’s starting running back.
Don Bosco, who had Peppers on their squad, won two consecutive state titles in New Jersey in 2010 and 2011, and USA Today named them the number one team in the nation in 2011.
