He was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Freshman of the Year after breaking the school’s freshman records with 67 receptions for 941 yards as a true freshman. He recorded 78 receptions for 1,408 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore. He recorded 90 receptions for 1,436 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior. He was chosen by the Tennessee Titans in the opening round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Including a $16.60 million signing bonus, Davis signed a four-year, $25.39 million contract with the Titans in July 2017. He inked a three-year, $37.5 million deal with the New York Jets in March 2021.
In his first week with the Jets, he caught five passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns. After undergoing core muscle surgery, he was put on injured reserve in December 2021. Through nine games, he concluded his first season with the Jets with 34 receptions for 492 yards and four touchdowns.
