On Monday, it was reported that wide receiver Calvin Jackson Jr. had signed with the Jets.
Before being signed by the Jets on Monday, Jackson was expected to attend a minicamp with the Miami Dolphins after going undrafted out of Washington State in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The former Washington State star only had 38 receptions in his first three years with the Cougars.
He struggled until 2021 when he made a full-time switch to the slot and exploded for 66 receptions, 978 yards, and seven scores.
Jackson, who stood just 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed 193 pounds, was miscast as an outside receiver. Despite his small stature, he played all but two of Washington State’s offensive snaps in his senior year.
Jackson had a breakout year because he was able to make the most of his speed and YAC abilities in the slot.
Jackson, a former JUCO standout, played alongside fellow Jets rookie Jermaine Johnson at Independence Community College before moving to Washington State. The pair have now found each other again at Florham Park.
