Vinny Curry returned to the Jets in April, signing a contract similar to the one he signed with the team last summer.
Curry most recently agreed to a one-year, $1.12 million contract with $800,00 in guaranteed money, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Curry signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with a $1.1 million guarantee last year, for comparison.
Curry missed the entire 2021 season due to issues from a rare blood condition, hence he was never able to participate in that original contract. Curry made the problem public in August of last year after Jets doctors had identified the illness in July.
Curry was slated to return in September of last year, but the diagnosis called for the excision of his spleen.
Curry had to start taking blood thinners as a result of blood clots that developed during his recuperation. Curry was temporarily barred from maintaining physical touch due to those.
Curry committed to coming back in 2022. He was released by the Jets from the non-football injury list in January, but they are now honoring his commitment to return to the field.
