He had a career-high 12 sacks while playing college football for the Marshall Thundering Herd at Marshall University from 2007 to 2011.
He recorded 74 tackles, 11 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles in 2011 as a senior. The 6 forced fumbles were second most in the country, and the 11 sacks were sixth most overall. Since Albert McClellan in 2006, he became the first player from Marshall to win C-USA Defensive Player of the Year.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Curry in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. In May 2012, he committed to a four-year deal with the group. He agreed to a five-year, $47.5 million contract extension with the Eagles in February 2016 that included a $23 million guarantee. In Super Bowl LII, the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots. In the win, he made four tackles.
He agreed to a three-year, $23 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2018. He was released by the Buccaneers in February 2019. He re-signed with the Eagles on a one-year contract in March 2019. He agreed to a new one-year contract with the Eagles in August 2020. In March 2021, he agreed to terms with the New York Jets.
